The Dodge location was founded in 1957 by Arthur J. and Martha J. Adair and is the original Adair Funeral Homes location. Arthur Adair entered the funeral industry in 1938, working at Tiedje Funeral Home in Tucson before establishing the Dodge Chapel, which opened on February 16, 1957, at 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. Following Arthur's death in 1973, Martha Adair assumed leadership of the business and became the first female president of the Arizona Funeral Directors Association. For decades, the business remained family-operated, involving the Adairs' four children and, eventually, their grandchildren. The location holds active contracts with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Pima County, and other government agencies.
