Glen Oaks Memorial Park is a cemetery in Chico, California, located in the southern region of the city. The park provides burial services, cremation services, funeral and memorial services, pre-need cemetery property, veterans services including military honors, and ash scattering assistance.
Glen Oaks Memorial Park was established in 1959 by Warren Pope Brusie and Helen Brusie, founders of Brusie Funeral Home, as an expansion of their funeral service operations in Chico. The property occupies land that historically marked the northernmost border of the Patrick Ranch. A small private burial plot belonging to the Patrick family existed on the acreage prior to the park's dedication; that plot, which contains original upright monuments, was preserved when the grounds were developed. Unlike traditional cemeteries with upright headstones, Glen Oaks is designed as a modern memorial park utilizing flat bronze markers throughout, with the exception of the original Patrick family plot. The park features the Fountain of Tranquility, the largest water fountain in Butte County, which serves as a central landmark within the cremation garden area. The Veteran's Court of Honor is a dedicated military tribute section on the grounds and serves as the site for local Memorial Day services.
The park includes a mausoleum, cremation gardens and niches, family and private cemetery lots, build-to-suit cemetery property, a veterans cemetery section, a Catholic cemetery section, and a Jewish cemetery section. Spanish-language services are available.
Glen Oaks Memorial Park does not operate an on-site crematory. Pet burial is not offered. No chapel or indoor service room is available on the grounds.
