Greenlawn Memorial Park

Greenlawn Memorial Park is a cemetery in Columbia, South Carolina, serving families throughout the Columbia metropolitan area and the broader South Carolina Midlands. Services include burial services, funeral and memorial services, pre-need planning, veterans services including military honors, and ash scattering assistance. Greenlawn Memorial Park is co-located with Thompson Funeral Homes - Columbia, a full-service funeral home operating on the same grounds.

Established in 1937, Greenlawn Memorial Park is one of Columbia's first perpetual care cemeteries. The park constructed the first granite and marble mausoleum in the Columbia area, which remains a central feature of the grounds. Since 1960, Greenlawn has hosted an annual Easter Sunrise Service in partnership with the Lower Richland Ruritans, that draws more than 200 families annually. The park is the resting place of Matthew J. Perry, Jr., the first African American U.S. District Judge in South Carolina, a Columbia native who was posthumously inducted into the South Carolina Hall of Fame.

The grounds include a mausoleum, cremation gardens and niches, private and family cemetery lots, and a dedicated veterans section. A central lake serves as the site of the annual Easter Sunrise Service and other community gatherings. Identification viewings and private viewings are available.

Greenlawn Memorial Park does not operate an on-site crematory. Pet cremation and pet burial are not available.
