Sandberg Funeral & Cremation Services was founded in 1942 by Gustaf P. "Gus" Sandberg under the name Sandberg Mortuary in Historic Downtown North St. Paul. Gus Sandberg's sons, Paul and Bill Sandberg, joined the business in 1955 and assumed full operations in 1963. Bill Sandberg served simultaneously as co-owner of the funeral home and Mayor of North St. Paul for 29 consecutive years, from 1979 to 2008. Mary Kaye Sandberg, Paul's daughter, joined the firm in 1987 and assumed operations in 1998, representing the third generation of family leadership. The business was incorporated under its current name by 2010.
The facility includes a chapel, private viewing rooms, and identification viewing accommodations.
Sandberg Funeral & Cremation Services does not operate an on-site cemetery or on-site crematory and does not offer pet cremation, licensed grief therapy, or legal and estate planning services.
